Guided Trout Magnet and Fly Fishing Trips
Our guided trout fishing trips are done by float fishing in comfortable river boats or, if preferred, wade fishing. All trips include the use of our equipment, rods & reels, flies (if fly fishing), Trout Magnets (if spin fishing), and other items needed to have a successful trip. Drinks and snacks are provided on all trips; lunch (sandwich, chips, cookies) is provided on full day trips.
Trout Magnet spin fishing trips use ultra light spinning equipment made up of 9ft or 6’6” custom made rods (designed specifically for the Trout Magnet) and Shimano open faced reels lined with 2lb test line with 2lb (or less) tippet. Trout Magnets are fished under a highly visible float drifted through seams, shoals and tailouts. This spin fishing set up, fishing the world famous Trout Magnet, makes the hook up and fight with the Little Red trout an absolute blast. We not only exclusively use the Trout Magnet on our spin fishing trips, but we will teach you the proper Trout Magnet set up and fishing technique. Our goal is teach you how to use it so that you can take the Trout Magnet to any trout stream and catch fish.
Our fly fishing trips use 5wt Temple Fork Outfitter (TFO) rods and reels. We provide needed leaders, tippet and flies. We tie our own custom flies that catch trout on the Little Red River. We will normally nymph fish using a strike indicator or throw streamers. When conditions are right and the hatches are happening (which is often) we will have an incredible time using dry flies to catch rising trout on the Little Red. Don’t know how to fly fish? No problem! We are happy to provide instruction on set up, selecting flies, casting and hooking a trout using a fly rod. Want to use your own rod? Again, no problem. Bring it and we will provide everything else you need to have a successful fishing experience.
We use custom built 21ft Shawnee and Supreme riverboats with outboard jet motors. This allows us to run shallow water, providing access to less pressured parts of the river to drift fish out of the boat or wade (if desired) some of the beautiful shoals. These boats are stable, allowing the option of standing or sitting while Trout Magnet or fly fishing. Our boats are clean, spacious and (most of all) comfortable to make your trip enjoyable and relaxing.
